Robotaxis are making a major comeback. Uber, Stellantis, Nvidia, and Foxconn have teamed up to launch a fully integrated autonomous ride service. Stellantis will manufacture the vehicles, Nvidia and Foxconn will provide the advanced self-driving tech, and Uber will handle deployment on its ride-hailing platform. This collaboration aims to merge cutting-edge AI with versatile vehicle designs.
Stellantis plans to use its AV-ready platforms, including the K0 Medium Size Van and the STLA Small. These models are built for flexibility and can accommodate multiple passengers comfortably. By combining modular design with autonomous tech, the vehicles are prepared for urban, suburban, and even long-distance robotaxi routes.
Nvidia and Foxconn will provide the brains behind the ride. Nvidia’s AI-driven self-driving system will handle perception, navigation, and safety, while Foxconn’s engineering expertise ensures seamless integration into Stellantis vehicles. Together, they aim to create a robust, reliable robotaxi capable of handling real-world conditions.
While an exact launch date hasn’t been announced, Uber will be the platform for these autonomous rides. Riders can expect an upgraded experience with AI-enhanced safety features and optimized routes. This collaboration signals a renewed push for autonomous ride-hailing, making robotaxis more accessible than ever.
