A statement released by the Lebanese Council of Ministers said that the two leaders discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties in various fields to serve the interests of both countries.
They also agreed to take necessary measures to reopen the UAE Embassy in Beirut and form a joint committee to develop a mechanism to facilitate the issuance of entry visas for Lebanese to the UAE, said the statement.
Mikati briefed the UAE president on Lebanon’s efforts to resolve challenges at various levels and expressed his appreciation to the Gulf country for its continuous support for Lebanon, adding that the UAE’s support contributed to strengthening Lebanon’s ability to confront many challenges.
For his part, Al Nahyan stressed the UAE’s position towards brotherly Lebanon is supporting all that preserves its security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity and what achieves the interest of its people in development and prosperity, according to the statement.
