Two suspected gangsters have been killed following a botched robbery attempt in Lolwe estate, Kisumu County.
The two were part of a five man gang armed that had raided Savannah Court located in Lolwe.
Nyanza Regional Police boss Karanja Muiruri said three other suspects managed to escape.
"Residents spotted them and raised the alarm, attracting attention from other tenants. The two were cornered by locals who subjected them to mob justice," Muiruri added.
The bodies of the two have been taken to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) mortuary.
Police have in the meantime pleaded with members of the public not to take the law into their own hands.
