Three people died while six others sustained serious injuries on Wednesday after the matatu they were travelling in was involved in an accident at Enaibelbel area, along the Narok- Nakuru road.
Confirming the incident, Narok Central Police Commander John Momanyi said that the accident occurred when the Narok-bound matatu lost control and rolled over after two of its tyres burst.
The driver of the ill-fated matatu and two passengers died on the spot while the injured persons were rushed to Narok Referral Hospital for treatment.
According to Momanyi, the bodies of the deceased persons have been moved to the said institution's mortuary while the vehicle wreckage was towed to Narok town police station.
He likewise urged motorists using the road to exercise caution and adhere to traffic rules and regulations while noting that police in the area intend to clamp down on unroadworthy vehicles.
