The two institutions announced today that they will work together on various initiatives to enhance service delivery in the Indian Ocean country.
In the deal, they will share ideas on facilitating the exchange of technology, knowledge, research, and innovation, which will culminate in the creation of a state-of-the-art data center.
They will also seek to improve high-speed broadband connectivity within the region.
“This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with eGAZ to advance digital services and infrastructure in Zanzibar,” said Zanzibar Internet Agency Executive Director Sief Said.
“This partnership highlights iLabAfrica’s commitment to actively promote innovation and foster the exchange of knowledge to enhance delivery of government services,” he added.
The partnership is set to benefit Zanzibar through an array of digital services such as merchants, businesses, tourists, and residents.
“eGAZ is dedicated to improving the digital landscape in Zanzibar. Our collaboration with iLabAfrica will bring fresh insights and expertise to our initiatives, ultimately benefiting the citizens and businesses of Zanzibar,” added iLabAfrica Deputy Director Emmanuel Kweyu.
