St Antony Kitale head coach Peter Mayoyo has backed Nzoia FC to mount a strong FKF Premier League title challenge following their brilliant start to the season.
Mayoyo termed the youthful Nzoia side ‘aggressive and united’ and added the fact they have played together in the youth ranks makes it easy for them to understand each other.
“They are a very youthful side and most of those players have played together at some point either in the grassroots teams or in High School. That make it is easy for them to understand each other and the hunger to succeed is in that team is out of this world so no one should undermine them they are in this title race to win,” Mayoyo said.
The veteran tactician also praised coach Salim Babu's passion for working with upcoming talent saying it is the foundation of the growth of Kenyan football.
“He loves developing young players he does go for the big names and that is his basis for success football,” he stated.
Mayoyo’s Kitale side were beaten on penalties by Kabarnet Boys High School during last year’s regional finals and will now bid to reclaim the national and East African titles.
“Last season my forwards were not that sharp in front of the goal this season is different I have a very good team that is going for a win for both the national and East African title ,Laise Hill have a good team that can cause problems but we will be ready to handle them.”
