Police officers are investigating the incident discovered two pick-up trucks that had been vandalized at a home in Muguga village.
According to the police, the suspects were in the process of jacking vehicle parts, which were then sold in Nairobi's black market and other areas.
Kabete OCPD Joseph Muriuki stated that they were looking into a report that stolen cars were being vandalized at that residence.
He said when they went to the scene, they found the suspects, who could not explain to the detectives much about those vehicles.
They were 6 men and 2 ladies, who were locked at King'eero police station as DCI at the station continue with investigations.
Muriuki revealed that they were investigating where the vehicles were stolen from and where the spare parts are being sold.
Detectives also discovered a third vehicle which they suspect was being used by the suspects to haul the parts to the market.
Nyumba Kumi chairman Samuel Kamau thanked the police for acting quickly after being alerted to the activities at that home.
He described it as a watershed moment because residents had been terrified of passing or driving near that house.
The vehicles were also towed to the King'eero police station while police investigate the incident.
Muriuki stated that the suspects could be charged with stealing vehicles, vandalism, and illegally selling spare parts.
