Ryan Reynolds has reacted to Wrexham’s dramatic 5-5 draw against Swindon Town by posting an important message to fans on social media.
After starting the season off with a 5-3 defeat against Milton Keynes Dons, Wrexham have been unbeaten in their last two league outings against AFC Wimbledon and Walsall.
Against Swindon on Saturday, Wrexham found themselves 4-1 down after 31 minutes after goals from Jake Young, Charlie Austin and Dan Kemp. Jake Bickerstaff was the scorer for the hosts.In the second half, the Red Dragons produced a spirited come back as they make it 4-3 thanks to Elliot Lee and James Jones.
However, Swindon made it 5-3 after Kemp scored his second. But two goals in injury time from Lee and Jones salvaged a 5-5 draw for Wrexham.
After the match, Wrexham’s Hollywood owner Reynolds took to social media to send an important message to fans.
He wrote: “So much heart. #NeverLeaveAWrexhamMatchEarly”Speaking on the back of the dramatic encounter, Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson said: “Where do you start? At 4-1 down at half-time I was confident we could respond and that's a credit to the group.
“I’ve been in dressing rooms before as a player and as a manager where that would worry you and it certainly didn’t.”
He added: “But we've also got to be honest that the very basics have got to be so much better.
“The lads were never ever giving in. If you put on a Wrexham shirt that's a requirement. But equally, we've got to be honest with ourselves. We need to do better.”Wrexham will be back in action next Saturday as they travel to Holker Street to take on Barrow. After that, Wrexham will be in Carabao Cup action with a tie against Bradford City.
