Political analyst Herman Manyora has said that President William Ruto should be the big brother by extending his hand to Azimio leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking on Monday, Manyora said the two leaders should reconcile for the interest of Kenyans.
"Ruto has a bigger responsibility to be the big brother because it is only him who can extend his hand to Raila. It can't come from Raila," Manyora said in an interview with NTV.
He said that the President can't do much when Kenyans are on the streets.
"I invite Ruto to look at these things more critically than he is doing," Manyora said.
"If anybody is advising there is anything he can do when the people are still in the streets he is lying to him because there is nothing you can do and none of them will win if they don’t talk."
Manyora said that the Azimio principles cannot be changed using state power.
This is after Raila held a series of rallies on anti-Ruto protests.
Raila asked Ruto to accept that he did not win the August 2022 presidential elections.
Raila said President Ruto should leave State House so that he can occupy it.
“Accept that you were defeated in the election, leave State House for Baba to get in," he said.
"We are speaking the truth, we do not want war, and we do not want threats. We have our rights as Kenyans, and they can not be snatched by a hawk, Kenyans deserve a leader that they elected.”
