Richarlison has revealed he will seek 'psychological help' when he returns to Tottenham and appeared to aim a dig at his former agent in an honest assessment.
The 26-year-old is set to return to England this week, having represented Brazil on the international stage for their World Cup qualifiers.
He started his country's World Cup qualifier against Bolivia last weekend and was left in tears after missing a gilt-edged chance before being replaced.
The Spurs forward was spotted on the bench crying as he cut a hugely emotional figure.He also played over an hour in Brazil's 1-0 victory over Peru, but failed to get on the score-sheet as he went the international break without a goal.
Richarlison, who has also struggled for goals at club level, opened up about the 'turbulent times' he has faced in the last five months.
"I went through a turbulent time in the last five months off the field. Now things are right at home. People who only had an eye on my money walked away from me," he said candidly as he referenced former agent Renato Velasco, per Globo."Now things will start to flow, I’m sure I’ll get a good run at Tottenham and make things happen again.
"That sad moment wasn’t even because I played poorly, in my opinion I didn’t play a bad game in Belem, it was more of an outburst about the things that were happening off the field, which got out of control not on my part, but on the part of people who were close to me."The Brazilian added: "I’m going to go back to England, seek psychological help, from a psychologist, to work on my mind. That’s it, come back stronger."I believe I will be in the next squad, I will work for that. It’s about getting a good streak at Tottenham, this week I’m going to
sit down and talk to them, I need a good streak, get the rhythm of the game."
Richarlison scored three goals in all competitions last season - including just one Premier League goal, following his move from Everton.
He's played five games this campaign, with his only goal coming in a Carabao Cup loss to Fulham.
