Nyandarua Governor Kiairie Badilisha has now gotten a green light to foster his agenda after the Employment and Labour Court in Nakuru vacated orders restraining the County Assembly from vetting new County Chief Officers.
Justice David Nderitu overturned the orders paving way for the vetting of the officers nominated by Governor Badilisha, and their approval. The new officers subsequently took oath of office late Tuesday evening.
The 16 senior officers were sworn in amid calls for leaders to embrace one another and respect for government institutions.
Speaking during the brief ceremony held at the Governor’s offices and witnessed by CECMs, a few government officers, and members of the public, the governor observed that even though the process had its fair share of challenges, it marked a new beginning for service delivery in building a better county.
He said the new senior officers will be instrumental in bringing change and realizing the dreams of the local people.
As professionals, the governor asked Chief Officers to serve people with utmost fidelity to the law and integrity and at the same time, observe collective approaches to governance and managing departments.
Badilisha urged fast implementation of projects that are “responsive to the needs of our people and brings value for money to Mwananchi.”
Similar sentiments were shared by the Speaker of the County Assembly Stephen Wachira Waiganjo who assured the Chief Officers, of the House’s support towards making Nyandarua “a changed and transformed place for all.”
The leaders noted that both the Assembly and the Executive serve the interests of the common mwananchi, and hence called for concerted efforts to enhance service delivery.
They also want leaders to embrace a unity of purpose to ensure.
