Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has said the handshake between Azimio leader Raila Odinga and former President Uhuru Kenyatta messed up Azimio.
Speaking on Wednesday at a show Kenya Explained, Babu Owino said that he does not believe in handshakes.
"I don't believe in handshakes. The handshake that we were in just messed us up the other day. Were it not for that handshake Raila would be president today," he said.
Babu Owino said that it is good for Azimio to give the government a chance to deliver its promises to Kenyans while they play the oversight role.
He said Ruto has a right to tour any region in Kenya because he is working for Kenyans.
Babu Owino said that the idea of Kenyan leaders coming together for the sake of development is a good thing.
He said that in terms of vote hunting, Azimio did well by getting votes in central Kenya.
Uhuru threw his weight to the Azimio coalition in the August 9, 2022 polls.
The former President said he decided to work with Raila for the sake of peace, a decision that did not sit well with Ruto leading to a fallout between the two former political soulmates.
