A family in Lurambi Constituency in Kakamega County is counting losses following a fire incident.
Speaking to Local media, the family said property worth thousands of shillings was destroyed in the fire.
The incident happened at the family's home in Luanda Shop area in Butsotso Ward in Lurambi.
"The owner was away at the time of the incident. She was called back to the home only to find the house on fire," a resident said.
Butsotso East area chief Justus Mukoshi confirmed the incident saying nothing was salvaged.
"Efforts to put out the fire were futile since by the time villagers arrived, the fire had spread all over the house," he noted.
