The Pastoralist Parliamentary Group (PPG) has picked a new leadership which will steer the group to achieve its goals in the 13th Parliament.
The group is made up of 105 Members of Parliament from 15 counties in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands.
Mandera North MP Maj (Rtd) Bashir Abdullahi is the new chair of the group.
Turkana West MP Daniel Epuyo Nanok was picked as the vice chair while Saku MP Ali Raso is the patron of the group.
Laikipia North MP Sarah Korere was elected the secretary general while Lamu East legislator Ruweida Obo was pocked as deputy secretary general and Kajiado Central lawmaker Elijah Memusi, treasurer.
In his acceptance speech, Abdullahi said thanked members for electing me as their chairperson on the sideline of the ongoing post-election seminar for MPs in Mombasa.
“I would like to assure you that I will serve you and execute my duties with due diligence along with the other officials elected into office,” he stated.
With 105 members, PPG is the largest political caucus in the House.
