Police are investigating the death of a passenger whose body was found at the waiting lounge at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi.
According to police, the passenger aged 43 was headed for Mombasa on Saturday, April 8 night and had checked in ready for boarding when he failed to show up at the plane as required.
The Jambojet airline officials had even called his name several times asking him to board in vain, officials said.
He had taken one of the seats at the waiting lounge and died there holding a traveling bag, officials said adding they are yet to establish the cause of the death.
After it was realized he was motionless on the seat, the airline’s clinical officers were called to attend to him before pronouncing him dead.
Police are yet to establish the cause of death but they had informed the family of the deceased.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further probe.
"A probe into the incident is ongoing," police said.
