Nzoia Sugar FC tactician Salim Babu says his side is under no pressure after Gor took the top spot in Football Kenya Federation Premier League.
Gor Mahia defeated Wazito 3-0 to go top on 33 points, two above second placed Nzoia and Babu says they are not worried about the new development.
“We don’t want to focus on our opponents but our matches, we want to win every match and not look at how Gor or KCB are performing, we are not under any pressure to keep up,” Babu said.
The club that barely survived relegation last year has been the league’s standout team for its showcase football.
Coach Salim Babu underscored they are calm to avoid putting big demands on themselves like starting to think they can win the league title.
“For us as a team, finishing in top position will be good for us. The boys are ambitious and this season we won’t struggle with fighting relegation, at the same time we don’t want to look over ambitious by discussing the League title.
Nzoia have 31 points after 15 league rounds ahead of Saturday’s fixture against Posta Rangers in Bungoma.
