Ulinzi Warriors head coach Benard Mufutu has criticized the manner in which his boys played during their win over Zetech Titans over the weekend.
Ulinzi hammered Titans 50-28 on Saturday Kenya national men’s basketball premier league contest at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi but Mufutu was unimpressed by his side.
“As a team we didn’t play that well in terms of execution, offensive side and we had a lot of turnovers in the game. Defensively, we were giving out easy shots which wasn’t a good display,” Mufutu said.
Mufutu added that it was one of the games that they won by playing badly as he told his charges they must improve in the coming matches.
“Sometimes you win games but you play badly and this is one of the games as a technical bench we felt we failed to display a good game.
“We shall continue working hard as we approach the playoffs; the players need to focus from the word go when the game begins until the end of the whistle,” Mufutu stated.
Ulinzi have two games left in the regular league and will be playing second placed Equity Dumas this coming Sunday while ANU Wolfpacks will be playing University of Nairobi’s Terror on Saturday with six matches to go in the regular league.
The win saw the soldiers continue to stay at the top of the table with 36 points after playing 20 games, winning 16 and losing four while ANU Wolfpacks continue to trail at the back with 23 points after playing 16 matches, winning seven and losing nine.
Equity Dumas are second with 34 points same as Strathmore Blades who are third.
