Neymar has told Paris Saint-Germain he wants to leave the club, it has been claimed.
French publication L'Equipe has claimed Neymar has informed the PSG management that he wants to depart the club this summer.
The news follows Kylian Mbappe's ongoing transfer saga, with the France captain currently in a contract stand-off with the club, amid a desire to join Real Madrid.
Indeed, Mbappe has a year left on his contract and is refusing to extend his deal, with PSG therefore keen to sell the 24-year-old and secure a transfer fee rather than let him go for nothing next summer.
Having already seen Lionel Messi depart on a free earlier this window, Neymar is now allegedly keen to leave PSG, a club he joined for a world-record £200million fee back in 2017.
The 31-year-old reportedly brought his family and agent, Pini Zahavi, together last week and decided that it was time to leave Ligue 1.
Neymar is said to still be affected by the PSG ultras’ protest in front of his house back in the spring, while he allegedly feels PSG do not do enough to protect their players.
The Brazilian was linked to Manchester United earlier in the summer, while Barcelona are considered favourites to re-sign the attacker.Neymar, who has four years remaining on his PSG deal, has been linked with moves to United and Barcelona throughout the summer.
Back in May, L'Equipe claimed that discussions have been 'initiated' between Neymar and Premier League clubs, with United among the interested parties.
The French outlet added that Casemiro was pushing for his compatriot to join him at Old Trafford.
However, Neymar allegedly wants to return to Barcelona, with the Catalans giants also keen for a reunion.
The winger, who is earning €30million (£25million) per year at PSG, is said to be convinced that now is the time to leave. As per L'Equipe, Neymar's demand to leave, made just days before the start of the new campaign, has not been taken well by PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi.
