Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has reduced sticker fees for Bodaboda riders in the county.
Natembeya said that bodaboda sticker fees will be reduced from Sh3600 to Sh500.
In a statement, the governor said that the reduced fee will take effect from January 30.
"During my campaign, I pledged to reduce sticker fees from 3,600 to 500 per annum. With effect from January 30 bodaboda sticker fees will be 500," he said.
The governor added that bodaboda riders play a significant role in the economy of Trans Nzoia county.
He said that levies laid to them should be reasonable.
On Wednesday, Natembeya affirmed his commitment to working with President William Ruto in his bid to enhance development in the county.
Natembeya said he is only focused on developing the county hence the need to work with leaders across the political divide.
"I only have one agenda, and that’s developing my county and ensuring that the living standards of our people are upscaled. For that reason, I am ready to work hand in hand with the national government and other leaders. I want to see that we change the story of Trans Nzoia, for the better” he said.
