The Barthes Trophy U20 competition is scheduled to take place at Nyayo National Stadium from April 22 through to April 30, 2023, Kenya Rugby Union announced on Tuesday.
Leading African teams are slated to participate in the competition, and the champion will be given a ticket in the World Junior Rugby Tournament [WJRT] which is scheduled for Nairobi.
In the 2022 edition, Kenya earned bronze after defeating Madagascar 49–15 in third-place playoff, as Zimbabwe were crowned champions after a stunning 19-14 victory over favorites Namibia.
At the same time the WJRT will be held on July 15 in Nairobi. The competition which was postponed in 2020 owing to Covid-19 pandemic will be making a return to Africa for the first time in post Covid period.
