Mykhailo Mudryk finally found the net for Chelsea in his 24th game for the club.
The Ukraine international has struggled to do the business in front of goal since joining from Shakhtar Donetsk in an £88.5 million switch.
He's shown flashes of quality but could not provide the finishing touch. But that all changed in the derby against Fulham, as Mudryk put Mauricio Pochettino's side in the lead.Levi Colwill clipped over a gorgeous pass over the head of Issa Diop and Mudryk controlled the ball superbly, before converting pass Bernd Leno with his left foot.
You could see how much it meant to Mudryk, who was handed the No.10 shirt in the summer.Chelsea doubled their lead just 20 seconds after an error from Tim Ream allowed Armando Broja to score his first goal of the season.
Mudryk has clearly been short on confidence since joining in a period where his home country has been ravaged by war.
But he received a standing ovation when he was replaced by Raheem Sterling in the 68th minute in the Carabao Cup win over Brighton after impressing at Stamford Bridge.Mykhailo Mudryk is phenomenal and will come good - Chelsea cannot risk him being another Salah or De Bruyne," the 6-year-old told OLBG,
After that impressive display, Chelsea legend Pat Nevin stressed the importance of keeping Mudryk - warning they risk a other Kevin de Bruyne or Mo Salah situation if they let him go.
"There's a reason why Arsenal wanted Mudryk - he's phenomenal. His pace is ridiculous and so are his skills."He had different problems to everyone else as he was a Ukrainian lad coming into a new country.
"There was also a massive transfer fee hanging over him, though the pressure is slightly off now due to the other fees Chelsea have paid.
"I think he has the potential to be a great forward and a great creator.
"He came into a side that wasn't playing well, but he didn't make it easy for himself. His numbers last season were not good."
