Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has eulogised former Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha as a towering figure.
Ngunyi took to Twitter to say his piece about the late Magoha, calling him a giant with a kind soul.
He said he recalled during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic when Professor Magoha was at State House.
"He arrived with a box full of documents. He wanted more funds to expand schools," he said.
"He was a giant with a kind soul," he added.
Magoha's friend and colleague Walter Mwanda said on Tuesday at the Lee Funeral Homes that he and Magoha's son Michael had tried in vain to resuscitate him when he first collapsed at his home.
Mwanda said that at around 3 pm, Magoha's wife Odudu Barbara called him asking for help urgently.
He said that when he reached the house he met Michael who took him to where his father was.
He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead after efforts to resuscitate him failed.
The Nairobi Hospital announced the death of Magoha on Tuesday, January 24 in a statement by the Hospital's CEO James Nyamongo.
