Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby has reportedly rejected a move to Saudi Arabia in favour of moving to Premier League side Aston Villa.
Over the last few weeks, the 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr and Unai Emery’s Villa.
This week, it was reported that Diaby will make a decision on his future after both clubs agreed a fee with Leverkusen.According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Diaby is set to pledge his future with the Premier League club
He tweeted: “Moussa Diaby to Aston Villa, here we go! French winger has just said yes to Villa, he wants to join Unai Emery’s project — PL football as priority.
“Villa will pay fee in excess of €50m to Leverkusen for Diaby. Diaby picked Villa over huge bid from Al Nassr.”
Diaby is set to be Villa’s third signing of the summer transfer window after Pau Torres and Youri Tielemans.
Belgian Tielemans signed on a free transfer after he left Leicester City on the back of the Foxes’ relegation from the Premier League.
Whilst Spanish international Torres swapped Villarreal for Villa Park in a deal worth a reported €33 million.
Upon signing for the club, Torres said: “Well, I’m very happy. I think it’s been a decisive step and step forward in my career. It’s a step that I was ready to take and I’m really happy to arrive at Aston Villa, I think it’s a perfect opportunity for me and I want to make the most of it.“It’s a project that, in the last year, has evolved very quickly. When the boss arrived, the team was fighting in a different set of circumstances in the league and they finished by qualifying for Europe. I think that was a big step for the club and this shows that they have the ambition to improve year after year, and this year, I hope we can position ourselves higher up in the table.”
