Gospel singer Mercy Masika has recorded the highest listener spikes during this Easter season with two of her hit songs.
The songs 'Zaidi' and 'Nikupendeze' have a 71 per cent and 45 per cent listenership spike respectively on Spotify.
Other artistes who have made it to the top 10 list include Martha Mwaipaja, Eunice Njeri, Guardian Angel, Alice Kimanzi, Kambua, Samidoh, Sammy Irungu and St Kizito Choir, Makuburi.
There also emerges a clear pattern in the gospel music preference for the 18-35 age group. Two of Zabron Singers' songs with 'Mkono wa Bwana' and their 2020 wedding song release, 'Sweetie Sweetie' were the top favourites for this age group.
Reuben Kigame’s 'Enda Nasi' is his most streamed gospel song, landing it as the third-most-playlisted song.
