With the summer transfer window shortly coming to an end, the calculators are out to see which side has managed the highest net spend over the past few months.
The window closes at 11pm on Friday, September 1, and sides in the Premier League have only a few more days to get players in and out of their clubs.
There have been several big spenders this summer, both in England and elsewhere across the globe, most notably from Saudi Arabia as clubs in the Middle Eastern nation flex their financial muscles.
Some of the usual suspects from the Premier League have spent big this summer, including Manchester United thanks to the signings of Andre Onana, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund, the latter for a £72m deal from Atalanta.Arsenal have also been very active in the market this summer, bringing in Declan Rice from West Ham United in a £105m deal as he became the most expensive British player ever, as well as Kai Havertz from Chelsea and Jurrien Timber from Ajax.
The Stamford Bridge club meanwhile has been busy too, reshaping the squad for new boss Mauricio Pochettino with the likes of Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Romeo Lavia, Moises Caicedo, Axel Disasi and Robert Sanchez among the myriad of signings made.
But net spend includes subtracting the money made on sales from that spent on incomings, and Chelsea have had plenty of outgoings this summer which brought in funds.
As well as Mount and Havertz, Mateo Kovacic, Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic and Ethan Ampadu are among the players sold by the West London club for transfer fees.But according to the latest data from football statistics website Transfermarkt, Chelsea are only sixth on the net spend top 10 table this summer - and there are a few surprise inclusions on it too.
Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal tops the list with a net spend of €352m, after business which includes the signing of Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain, with Arsenal and United second and third with figures of €201m and €154m respectively.
Saudi Pro League pair Al-Ahli and Al-Nassr are fourth and fifth on the list with respective figures of €143m and €138m.Chelsea are sixth with €130m, while Bournemouth are surprisingly in seventh with a figure of €126m - the exact same as eighth placed Real Madrid, who bought Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Newcastle United sit ninth with a net spend of €109m, while tenth on the list are promoted Burnley who have been splashing the cash on plenty of new signings upon their return to the Premier League, with a net spend figure of €107m as things stand by Vincent Kompany's side.
