Manchester United have signed young goalkeeper Kie Plumley as Erik ten Hag completes his eighth signing of the summer.
The Red Devils have already added Mason Mount, Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund and Altay Altay Bayindir to their squad over the transfer window.
While Sergio Ruguilon and Sofyan Amrabat arrived on loan from Tottenham and Atalanta respectively.
But despite the transfer window closing two weeks ago, Ten Hag is still managing to add players to his weaponry, with Plumley the latest name to join the Old Trafford club. The 20-year-old Englishman has signed a deal after he was released by Oxford United at the end of last season, where he gained plenty of experience through a series of loan spells.
Plumley never made a senior appearance during his time with Oxford, but he was named on the bench seven times for the League One club.
And he has now got his dream move, with the boyhood United fan expected to provide a back-up role within United's youth sides over the coming season, having been registered as one of the eligible U21 players on the Premier League website. It is no surprise that United are keen to invest in the goalkeeping position following the release of David de Gea and the of Dean Henderson, who joined Nottingham Forest for £20 million.United also sold young goalkeepers Nathan Bishop and Matej Kovar, as Ten Hag clears his wage book.
And Plumley may be called upon before he knows it, with current no. 1 Andre Onana expected to be absent for a key chunk of the Premier League season after Cameroon qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations, including a crunch match against Tottenham Hotspur.
