Manchester United have confirmed that they have reached an agreement in principle with Fenerbahce for Fred this summer.
Fred, 30, has been one of many players linked with a move away this summer as Erik ten Hag aims to recoup some funds after spending a combined €192 million (£166m) on Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund.
It has been widely reported that Fred would leave Old Trafford, with Fabrizio Romano confirming he would be sold.
United have now confirmed (via their website) that they have reached an agreement in principle with Fenerbahce, with Fred free to discuss personal terms with the Turkish giants.
Meanwhile, Simon Stone of the BBC tweeted that a medical has been scheduled for Saturday after the clubs agreed on a €10m deal plus €5m in add-ons.After the FA Cup final last month, Fred conceded he could have played his final game for the club. "I still don't know," he said regarding his future. "I have to talk with my family."
He added: "I still have one year left on my contract here. Now it's holiday time and a good opportunity to rest. I'll talk to my staff, to the club, and see what everyone's decision is.
"I do have to talk with [Erik] ten Hag as well; he's the manager and the conversation has to involve everyone. We have to see how next season will play out.
"I want to be important; I want to help the team, so we'll see. But I've always been and still am very happy at Manchester United."
