Manchester United players are fed up with Jadon Sancho amid the winger’s tension with Erik ten Hag, a fresh report has claimed.
On Sunday Sancho refuted Ten Hag’s post-match claim that he had been omitted from United’s squad against Arsenal due to unsatisfactory performances in training.
The United boss claimed after United’s 3-1 defeat at the Emirates: "You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices in the front line. So for this game, he was not selected."
But the England international hit back in a social media post, labelling the comments as "completely untrue" and saying that he had been a "scapegoat for a long time."
Sancho added: "I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and (am) grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!"
And according to an ESPN report, Sancho is now facing a battle to regain the support of his United team-mates and manager, following his angry reaction to being dropped.Indeed, one source claimed via the publication that there is little sympathy for Sancho inside the United dressing room, and that “the players have had enough of him”.
Despite the strong reaction to Sancho’s post-match remarks, sources have told ESPN that the United manager has felt no need to clarify or tone down his remarks.
Indeed, the Dutchman has long been a disciplinarian, having criticised Cristiano Ronaldo on two occasions for his conduct before the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s departure.Moreover, Ten Hag also dropped Marcus Rashford to the bench last season due to him missing a team meeting.
ESPN has claimed that the players accept and respect Ten Hag’s firm approach to management, given it is applied fairly across all members of the squad, irrespective of status.
Moreover, Sancho's reaction has allegedly gone down badly within the dressing room, though a source claimed that it was not met with any surprise.
Sancho and Ten Hag are reportedly set for talks before United's game against Brighton next week to decide the forward's future.
