Residents of South Uyoma location in Rarieda sub-county woke up to a shocking incident where a body of a man was found hanging from the roof of a guest house at Luanda-Kotieno beach.    

The body of the man whose identity has been concealed as police try to locate his relatives is reported to have been discovered by the guest house attendants who had gone to clean the rooms.

According to the Assistant Chief of Naya sub-location Mr. Victor Otunge, the deceased is suspected to have had a battle with his wife over some family property.

The administrator revealed that a suicide note was found on the guest room table and that the deceased had indicated on it that ‘he cannot let go, while still a live, a property they bought together with his wife’.

Mr. Otunge stated that according to the suicide note, the deceased and his wife had bought a motorboat that they were using to fish at the nearby Dudwa beach and that the wife wanted to migrate with the boat to Homa Bay county.  

The man’s body has since been collected by the police and taken to Madiany hospital mortuary to await postmortem as investigations continue into the matter.
