Joao Cancelo's stellar performance against Yokohama F. Marinos has Manchester City fans saying the same thing.
Man City began their pre-season tour of Japan with a 5-3 victory over Yokohama on Sunday.
John Stones, Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland (x2) and Rodri all got on the score-sheet as the Blues produced a dominant performance.
Haaland, who scored a staggering 52 goals in all competitions last season, bagged a brace after entering the fray at the break.
Cancelo, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Bayern Munich, also made a second-half showing and impressed Man City fans online.
He provided a sublime assist for the Norwegian phenom as he picked him out with a gorgeous cross in stoppage time. The Portuguese pierced an inviting ball to the back post, with the 23-year-old forward making no mistake from close range.
His pass to Haaland sent social media wild as Man City supporters hope the 29-year-old is still on the club's books next season despite his differences with Pep Guardiola.
One Twitter user wrote: "I think I’ll love Cancelo to stay, if he wasn’t in this game in De Bruyne’s absence we would have been cooked, he can be in this sort of games where Kevin is absent, but we don’t have any other player good with passes and crosses like this."
A second tweeted: "That’s exactly why I’m delighted Cancelo’s apparently been reintegrated…his crosses, high or low…are magnificent. We’ve missed them."Cancelo has been the subject of intense transfer speculation this summer, but Guardiola insists he still has a future at the Etihad.
"He is here. Joao has been so important for us in the past," he said. "He is back here and is part of the group. We will see what happens."
