Musomba admitted they are rough edges in their game, which they will need to smoothen if they are to excel over other regional finalists.
“We will try to improve on the faults we did today so that we can get better scores. Hopefully, come Karen we will perform better and win so we are looking forward to that. Hopefully, we will do even better than we did here (Machakos),” Musomba said.
The team of Musomba, Simon Kimatu, Ben Mumo and Francis Mbithi accumulated a combined score of 115 points, ahead of the quartet of Joseph Malatu, Francis Musembi, Kyalo Munyao, and Engineer Okemwa with a score of 110 points.
Both teams earned passage to the grand finale where they will compete with 12 other teams from other regions for top honours.
Reflecting on an action-packed weekend, Musomba credited it to team work and hardwork, adding that it was an enjoyable afternoon of golf for him.
“Overall, it was a good game…both in the first and second nines. We were able to pull good scores. Through team effort, we were able to play a good game today,” he explained.
Musomba further encouraged interested players to pick up the sport, noting that it is an enjoyable pass time so long as one understands the basics.
“Golf is fun…it is a good sport. It is quite interactive and there’s a lot to it. If you are not playing golf, you should start playing it…and if you are, keep improving, practicing and you will be good at it,” he said.
The next leg of the tour will be held at the Nyali Golf Club in Mombasa county.
