Liverpool star Cody Gakpo has revealed the nickname he was given by his former team-mates at PSV.
Gakpo made the move to Anfield at the beginning of the January transfer window, having been linked with Manchester United for several months.
He quickly adapted to life on Merseyside, netting a brace against United in the 7-0 win at Anfield in March.
The Netherlands international has scored three goals in eight games in all competitions this season, and shown his versatility by playing as a centre forward, wide attacker and in midfield.
That versatility was also on full display at PSV, where he scored 21 goals and provided 24 assists in the final 18 months of his spell at the club.Speaking in an interview on the club's official YouTube channel, Gakpo revealed the nickname that PSV team-mates had for him when he was coming through their youth academy.
He explained: "At PSV, they used to call me 'long neck' - because I had a long neck. But you're not going to call me that..."When it was suggested by the interviewer that he could be called that again, Gakpo shook his head before laughing: "Oh my days. Not going to happen, this is not going to happen."
Gakpo has missed the last two games through after being forced off during the 2-1 defeat to Tottenham last month.
But he did return to training ahead of the Merseyside derby clash against Everton on Saturday, sparking hope that he could be passed fit to start the game ahead of Jurgen Klopp's pre-match press conference.
Should Gakpo make his return, it would be a major boost for the Reds, who have been depleted in attack in recent weeks amid the absence of the Dutchman and Diogo Jota, who has shown two yellow cards against Spurs.
