Liverpool could be handed a timely boost in their pursuit of Ryan Gravenberch after Manchester United made their own transfer decision.
After losing the likes of Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Fabinho, James Milner and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Liverpool have been targeting midfielders for the large part of the summer transfer window.
To date, the Anfield club have managed to bring in Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo. They have also been linked with a move for Bayern man Gravenberch but a deal is yet to materialise.
Gravenberch has also been linked with United but Liverpool could now be handed a timely boost.
This is because United have appeared to switch their attention away from Gravenberch.
According to The Athletic, United are working to bring in Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina on a loan deal.
A permanent deal this summer is reportedly unlikely due to United’s financial fair play situation.
United’s decision to go for Amrabat could pave the way for Liverpool to try and secure Gravenberch before the transfer deadline day on Friday.Throughout the summer, it was reported that German Bundesliga champions Bayern are reluctant to sell the Dutch midfielder. However, it has also been claimed that Gravenberch has asked to leave the Bavarian club in order to play more regularly.
After Bayern’s 3-1 win over FC Augsburg, Gravenberch has spoken about his future.
He told BILD: “I don’t know what will happen in the next days.”Liverpool could be set for a busy end to the transfer window as they continue to target new players.
Also, Reds superstar Mohamed Salah’s future appears to be uncertain with Saudi Professional League club Al Ittihad said to be seriously interested in signing the Egyptian.
Liverpool are back in Premier League action this weekend as they take on Aston Villa at Anfield.
