The Lionesses were hungry from the onset, with Janet Okello scoring the first try before Stellah Wafula added another for a 10-0 lead.
The Southern Africans seemed to be all at sea as Wafula popped up with another try at the stroke of halftime to give the Kenyans a commanding 15-0 lead heading into the break.
The floodgates remained open in the second half as Diana Awino scored Kenya’s fourth try, which was gleefully converted by Grace Okulu to make it 22-0 in favour of the homegirls.
Okello was not yet done as she completed her brace with another try in the last moments of the game to confirm Kenya’s intent on making a second consecutive appearance at the quadrennial games — following on from the Tokyo Games in 2021.
Meanwhile, the national women’s 15s side face Spain in their first match at the World Rugby WXV3 in Dubai on Saturday afternoon.
