Lionel Messi reportedly told Paris Saint Germain to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur during an end of season review.
Last August, Messi joined PSG after failing to agree on a new contract with Barcelona.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner went on to make 75 appearances across all competitions for the Parc des Princes club, scoring 32.
Earlier in the month, it was confirmed that Messi will leave PSG for MLS side Inter Miami.According to French media outlet After Foot RMC, Messi told PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to sign Kane during an end of season review.
So far in the summer transfer window, Kane’s future has been one of the major talking points.
The England captain’s future remains uncertain as the 23/24 season fast approaches. It has been widely reported that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy values Kane at £100 million and Bayern Munich have also had two bids rejected by the North London club.
According to Relevo, PSG have held discussions with Spurs regarding a potential transfer for Kane.
It has been reported that the French champions want to secure Kane’s signature in the coming weeks as they prepare for life without star man Kylian Mbappe.Kane’s teammate, Son Heung Min admitted that he has no idea whether the Englishman will still be at Spurs when the season starts next month.
He said: “I can’t say anything about the final decision because I don’t know anything. Probably Harry doesn’t know. We just have to wait. The decision will be between the club and Harry and we have to respect it.
“Harry has been fantastic for me. He’s always professional, always working hard. He’s never shown any thoughts about himself.”Son continued: “There’s so much news going around it’s also not easy for him. But he’s captain at the moment and he’s working with the team. He doesn’t show any distraction. He is not bothered. He loves being here. I love him as a player.”
