AFC Leopards have shifted their focus to their mid-week FKF-PL match against Wazito on Thursday after thrashing Zetech College 2-0 to book a ticket in the FKF Cup knockout 16.
According to Ingwe assistant head coach Tom Juma, their Saturday win is now behind them and now aiming for maximum points from the visiting Wazito FC hoping to stretch their impressive unbeaten run to 10 league matches this season.
“Our targets have never changed and so is our focus. For now we now shift our focus back to the league (FKF-PL) and we will take a game at a time. We are lined up to face Wazito FC at home in a mid-week match on Thursday, and we definitely we want to win.
"Hopefully we will take those three points and slowly we can evaluate ourselves at the end of the season where our point-tally will put us on the table,” Juma said.
The Leopards legend has also made it clear that they are out to win both the FKF Cup and the FKF-PL title.
“I think all of them are very important because when it’s time to play FKF Cup we will do it and plan well for that to go as far as we can and then when it’s the league competition we will also do the needful," he added.
The 12-time Premier League champions are currently short of players to rotate hence giving the head coach Patrick Aussems no space to inject new blood in the FKF Cup matches freely.
“We are just using the same players because as things are we are short of players and that makes it impossible to do rotation in the FKF Cup and the FKF Premier League matches and that is where we are now,” concluded Juma.
Leopards are fifth on the 18-teams log with 29 points, only 8 behind leaders Gor Mahia after 17 matches.
