National Super League side, Kisumu All Stars' coach Charles Warinda is hoping his side will build on their 2-0 win against Migori Youth as they hope to return to the top-tier league.
All Stars are seeking to return to the Kenya Premier League and have turned to Warinda to help the side back to the top-tier league.
“The win gave us a boost and we can build on it. The National Super League is very competitive so we take one game at a time. It’s good for football to have a competitive league,” said Warinda.
Speaking ahead of their game against Vihiga United, Warinda said: “Vihiga are a very good side. Vihiga United coach George Lio is someone I respect having been my coach at the youth level and it’s an honour to be with him on the touchline.”
Kisumu All Stars started their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Silibwet Leons before succumbing to a 2-0 loss against Nairobi United.
On Saturday, the Blue Eagles will tackle Vihiga Bullets at Mumias Sports Complex. Last weekend, they edged Migori Youth 2-0 at Moi Stadium in Kisumu, thanks to Michael Karamor’s double.
At Cardinal Otunga High School, Mosocho, Gusii FC will host Dimba Patriots, seeking to bounce back to winning ways. Dennis Onkangi will be in charge of Gusii following the departure of Kassim Junior Otieno.
SS Assad entertain Kajiado FC at the Ukunda showground as Silibwet and Mara Sugar face off at Silibwet Green Stadium in Bomet. Last weekend, Silibwet lost 6-0 against Naivas FC while Mara Sugar had a comfortable 2-0 victory over visiting Kibera Black Stars.
On Sunday, the highlight of the day will be a Mulembe derby between newcomers Luanda Villa and Mulembe United at Mumboha grounds in Vihiga.
At Migori Stadium, Migori Youth FC will invite Darajani Gogo. Gogo remains winless in the league so far and coach Caleb Aringa is under pressure to turn things around.
