A student at Bureti technical institute on Thursday drowned in a dam while trying to swim.
The alleged accident happened in Bureti sub-county, Kericho county.
Kericho county police commander Riko Ngare has confirmed the death of the student whose body has since been retrieved from the dam and taken to kapkatet hospital mortuary.
Speaking to journalists in his Kericho office, Ngare said police have launched investigations on the matter to establish the mysterious death of the student.
