Nekesa scored the first goal in a 6-0 demolition of Romanian side Olimpia Cluj, adding on to the brace she scored against the same opposition two weeks ago.
She opened the deadlock after just 10 minutes with a well-taken strike. Tamara Moravkova then added the second at the stroke of halftime to give them a 2-0 lead at the break.
In the second half, the Czech Republican side ran riot, adding more goals with Molly Coleen McLaughlin, Martina Surnovska, Haleigh Kae Stackpole and Michaela Khyrova adding one each.
Nekesa is the only Kenyan player playing in the group stages of the CAF Women’s Champions League. Esse Akida’s Greek club PAOK were also playing in Europe, but couldn’t go past the qualification rounds.
The striker’s form is welcome news for Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba ahead of next month’s crucial Women’s Cup of Nations qualifier against Botswana.
She missed the first round qualification win over Cameroon due to injury.
