A lorry which was parked along the Kakamega-Kisumu road near the Kakamega county headquarters on Saturday rolled and rammed into two vehicles parked near the headquarters before crashing into a building housing the governor's office.
The lorry, with Khetias Supermarket branding, was carrying the shop's goods.
A witness said that the driver was not in the car when the incident happened, adding that the vehicle could have rolled due to the weight of the goods it was carrying.
It was not immediately established whether the driver had engaged the handbrake.
Vincent Wabete pointed an accusing finger at county askaris, saying they allow vehicles to park in the wrong place.
"Many times you'll find vehicles are parked in the wrong place and this is the cause of some of these incidents," he said.
