For many, Carragher is everything you want in an expert analyst. In fact, before he joined the ranks at Sky Sports ahead of the 2013/14 campaign, managing director Barney Francis summed up his influence.
"Jamie has everything you want; opinions, experience and incredible knowledge," said Francis.
"He's hugely respected throughout the game and I know his immense insight on today's players, teams and tactics will make our football coverage even better."Carragher has continued to show that impressive knowledge and football IQ on a regular basis – and he did so again this week, when he came up against Gary Neville in a game of guess the career path.
The 45-year-old stamped his mark on the game after just one second, when he identified Peter Crouch's career that featured spells at Aston Villa, Southampton and Liverpool.
"You knew that one you fool," Neville replied, but Carragher didn't let up. In fact, he went on to win 9-2 thanks to some outstanding answers. One fan said: "Yooo Carra has elite ball knowledge," while another commented: "Three hours later and i’m still fuming that Gary Neville thought Romelu Lukaku played for Spartak Moscow."
