James Maddison said sorry to Tottenham Hotspur nutritionists after revealing his favourite post-match meal.
During the summer transfer window, Maddison left relegated Leicester City for Spurs in a deal worth a reported £40 million.
So far in the 23/24 season, the 26-year-old has made a big impact after scoring twice and assisting five in nine appearances.
Whilst speaking to teammate Eric Dier in a recent video, Maddison revealed his favourite cheat meal. In the video posted by Cinch, Dier asked: “How do you recharge after a game?”
Maddison replied: “I’ll have a big chippy. That's my recharge meal.
“I love a big chippy. Fish, chips, sausage, curry sauce. Covered in salt and vinegar. Mouth watering a little bit at the thought of it.”
The midfielder then issued an apology to the Spurs nutritionists, he added: “Sorry to the Spurs nutritionists if they're watching.”
Having played a vital part in helping Spurs climb to the top of the Premier League, Maddison admitted that the latest international break came at an ‘annoying time’ for his club.
He said to BBC Radio 5 Live: “I feel at the top of my game, and that is contributing to wins at the minute, and we have started the season really well, and we have got a good momentum.“The international break has probably come at a bit of an annoying time in a way.”
Maddison continued: “You would never, ever not want to represent your country, because I always say it is the pinnacle when I am away with England, but if I’ve got my club head on, we’re in good form, we’re in good momentum, we are unbeaten in the league in eight.
“We came back after the last international break and hit the ground running again and won late against Sheffield United in brilliant circumstances. Hopefully we can do the same off the back of this one and continue the form.”
