Jackton Odhiambo, the main suspect in the murder of Kenyan fashion designer and LGBTQ activist Edwin Chiloba will face murder charges.
In a ruling on Tuesday, January 31, the court freed other four suspects who had been arrested alongside Odhiambo.
Appearing before Eldoret Senior Principal Magistrate Richard Odenyo, the four were ordered to report to the police once a month for three months until they are cleared by police.
Earlier, police had asked the court to charge Odhiambo after investigations linked him to the crime.
Last week, a team of more than ten detectives and homicide team led by Martin Nyabuto visited the scenes of crime to gather evidence.
Chiloba's body was found stuffed inside a metallic box along Kipkenyo - Kaptinga road in Kapseret in Uasin Gishu County on January 3, 2023.
Odhiambo is set to be arraigned at Eldoret High Court anytime today.
