The bankers dismissed Menengai Oilers 41-21 in their early kickoff at Impala Grounds, racing into a 24-0 lead at halftime courtesy of tries from Samuel Asati, Felix Ojoo and Festus Shiasi.
Darwin Mukidza added a penalty goal in addition to his conversions for the three tries.
Michael Wamalwa then added his name to the scoreboard with another try in the second half before the Nakuru-based Oilers replied with their first try after 60 minutes.
Wamalwa bagged his second try of the afternoon to extend the champions’ lead before Alvin Khavoli and Jardon Abadon put some respectability to the scoreline with a try each for the Oilers.
In a late kick-off tie at the same venue, Nondies earned a date with KCB courtesy of a 20-14 victory over Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad in what was a game of two halves.
They will be hoping to exert revenge over the bankers who beat them 20-3 in last year’s final.
On their part, coach Curtis Olago’s boys will be angling for a third consecutive crown in what is traditionally a curtain raiser for the Kenya Cup.
