Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome on Wednesday toured the NPS Border Police Unit (BPU) in Kanyonyo, Kitui County.
The IG commended the officers for their commitment to duty and advised them to continue serving with professionalism.
Giving them life advice, Koome told the BPU officers to stay focused and manage their finances prudently in preparation for their retirement.
He was accompanied by Deputy IG Noor Gabow, Commandant BPU Abdullahi Aden and, Senior Assistant IG and Commandant Border Police Training Campus, Haron Nthiga.
Also present were the directors of the Commissioner of Police (CP)and Administration Police Service (APS).
The expansive modern facility in the area was formed in 2008 when BPU was first established.
The Unit was formed to enhance border security.
The facility also hosts Border Police Training Campus which offers specialized advanced tactical training to NPS Formed Up Units.
