Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku has affirmed his commitment to working with President William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza administration.
Lenku, who was elected on Raila Odinga's ODM ticket, said the past is “behind us', declaring his unwavering support for Ruto.
The second term governor said although they were in different camps while in the 'forest to look for God's grace”, time had come to join hands to build the country.
He was referring to their different camps during the 2022 presidential campaigns.
Lenku was supporting Azimio's Raila.
“We will join other Kenyans as the Maa nation to work with your government...this the time to build the country,” the governor said.
The governor insisted that the future of the country will not be build through political affiliation, but by leaders working together.
“We lost one another in the forest when we were looking for the grace of God, from the forest we all have an opportunity, let's all thank God and work for Kenyans,” Lenku said.
“The Maa nation is here today thanking God for a peaceful country and committing that it is all of us that will build the country and not political affiliations.”
The governor was speaking at the William Ole Ntimama Stadium in Narok where the President and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua are leading thanksgiving prayers.
