Graham Potter has emerged as the leading candidate for a new managerial gig outside of England five months on from his sacking at Chelsea.
Potter was relieved of his duties at Stamford Bridge following Chelsea's 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa in April.
He landed the job after impressing at Brighton, where he guided the club to their then-highest top flight finish, ending the 2021/22 campaign in ninth place.
But the 48-year-old's tenure in West London was less memorable as he lasted just seven months after winning only seven of his 22 Premier League games in charge.Since being let go at Chelsea, he's been linked with Leicester City, Leeds United and Nice.
But Potter is still without a job as reports now claim he's the leading candidate to replace Laurent Blanc should he be dismissed at Lyon.
The French side are bottom of the league, losing three of their four opening games and received a dressing down from the club's ultras following their crushing 4-1 home defeat to Paris Saint-Germain last weekend.Lyon's owner John Textor is using the international break to explore replacements, with Potter high on his managerial wish-list, according to L'Equipe.The report claims Textor met Potter, who is interested in the challenge at Lyon.
Former Wolves boss Bruno Lage, Bologna coach Thiago Motta and Englishman Will Still are also being considered.
Lyon resume their faltering league campaign following the international break as they face Le Havre.
