Detectives from the Homicide department based at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters have taken over investigations into the mysterious death of 23-year-old Geoffrey Mwathi.
The DCI took over the probe on Friday morning following a directive from Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki who called for a thorough probe into the matter.
Following the directive, the homicide detectives embarked on a "fresh and thorough probe" which began with a visit to Redwood Apartments in Kasarani area where Kikuyu benga artist DJ Fatxo resides.
In the February 22 incident at Redwood Apartments around Safari Park Estate, 23-year-old Mwathi who is an interior designer was captured on CCTV footage falling from the 10th-floor apartment window at a house rented out to DJ Fatxo, real name Lawrence Njuguna.
According to reports, Mwathi had been in DJ Faxto's house after spending the night partying with the popular Mugithi singer alongside his cousin and driver.
