They are just a point shy of league leaders Vihiga Queens as Nakuru City Queens, Bunyore Starlets and Thika Queens occupy third to fifth positions with 14, 12 and 12 points respectively.
Gaspo’s new manager Vivian Akinyi hailed his charges for a good job, urging them to stay more focused ahead of the next fixture against Thika Queens.
“It was a very nice win and the one we have won with the biggest margin this season. Despite our financial struggles I’m glad to see we still have the determination to get good results.
“Our aim is to win the league and earn the chance to play the third edition of the Caf Women Champions League qualifiers and I am sure with the right attitude and focus, we will achieve it,” Akinyi said.
Akinyi expressed her confidence that they will defeat Thika Queens, when both sides lock horns on Sunday at Gems Cambridge Langata.
“It will be a tough match considering that Thika are currently on form but I believe we shall carry the day.”
Akinyi who is a twin sister to Sharon Aluoch, a defender at the club, was appointed manager of the club in October last year after serving as he first choice Goalkeeper for long in the same team.
The promotion arrived after former manager Edward Githua was elevated to the chairperson position.
