TS Galaxy coach Saed Ramovic had no option but to praise the opposition after his side were swept off their park by a rampant Stellenbosch in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday.
After the 3-0 loss, the Galaxy coach had nothing but kudos for the home side, plus added praise for referee Philangenkosi Khumalo.
“I have to congratulate the opponent for a very, very great game from them. I think we were not at the level we wanted to be,” he said after a fifth match in a row without success.
“We made a lot of mistakes in our build up and a lot of mistakes with our passes. We were not compact enough, we arrived late to the ball. Also the second ball, we didn't pick up.
“We know that Stellenbosch is a great team and all in all, it was a deserved win from the opponent. We have to be fair.”
Ramovic had been critical of the referee of Jelly Chavani on Sunday when his side drew at home with Richards Bay but this time praised the match officials.
“I also would like to give the referee a huge credit. Huge compliment for the game. It was great of them also. Because if it's like this, then we have to also be fair and give the referees credit because they are not always seen in a great light.
“In our last game, this Jelly Chavani was embarrassing, because it was a clear penalty that he didn't give. And we are also sad that nobody talks about it, not even in the (SuperSport) studio, not even into the media.”
Ramovic said it was unfair the spotlight was always on controversial incidents involving the popular clubs. “Why not show for all teams? If other referees got punished, then I think what happened to us on Sunday really has to be taken up,” he added.
